TKAA Donates for the MacArthur Memorial Foundation Heritage Walk Bricks
Led by President Lea Lee, board members of the Tidewater Korean American Association visited the MacArthur Memorial on October 9, 2025, and presented a total of $2,000 donation for Heritage Walk bricks. This was made possible through the collective support of the association and its leading board members (Angie Kim, Hee-Won Yoon, and Amy Park).
This meaningful contribution was made to honor and promote Korean history and culture while celebrating the friendship between South Korea and the United States.
Following the event, which included the Director of the MacArthur Memorial, Amanda Williams, the delegation enjoyed lunch at Gogi Guys Korean BBQ restaurant with Major General (Ret.) Joseph Reynes, current President of the General Douglas MacArthur Memorial Foundation, along with foundation staff members Barbara and Kelly. This was a wonderful event, sharing a meaningful time of friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
타이드워터 한인회, 맥아더 기념관 재단에 Heritage Walk 벽돌 기부금 전달
타이드워터 한인회(회장 리아 리)는 2025년 10월 9일(목) 맥아더 기념관(MacArthur Memorial), Norfolk, Virginia 에 소재한 재단을 방문해 Heritage Walk 벽돌 기부금 총 2,000달러를 전달했다.
이번 기부는 타이드워터 한인회와 주요 임원진(김엔지, 윤희 원, 박혜진)의 뜻을 모아 이뤄졌으며, 한국 동포사회와 주유사회의 협력증진및, 한미 간 우호 관계를 위한 의미 있는 활동으로 진행됐다.
이날 행사에는 맥아더 기념관의 관장, 아만다 윌리엄스(Amanda Williams)가 함께했으며, 기부식 후에는 현 맥아더 기념관 재단장인. 조셉 르네스 (Maj. Gen. Joseph Reynes) 과 재단 관계자 바바라, 켈리와 함께 고기 가이즈(Gogi Guys Korean BBQ) 식당에서 오찬을 가지며 한인회와 우정과 협력의 의미를 나누는 뜻깊은 시간을 가졌다.
