타이드워터 한인회는 맥아더 장군 기념관(MacArthur Memorial)과 함께 제80주년 광복절 기념 행사를 아래와 같이 개최하게 되어, 미리 안내드리며 정중히 초청의 말씀을 전합니다.

이번 행사는 대한민국의 광복 80주년을 기념하며, 지역 사회와 단체의 지도자 여러분, 그리고 타이드워터 지역 시민들이 함께 모여 한국의 독립과 자유의 의미를 되새기는 뜻깊은 시간이 될 것입니다.

특히 한국의 미래를 이끌어갈 차세대(청년 및 학생)와 한인 가족들이 함께하는 자리를 마련하였으니, 온 가족, 이웃분들께서 같이 오셔서 자리를 빛내주시고 함께 해 주시기를 바랍니다.

Invitation to the 80th Anniversary of Korea's Liberation Day

Hello.

We wish you peace and good health.

The Tidewater Korean American Association (TKAA) will hold the 80th Anniversary of Korea's Liberation Day at the MacArthur Memorial Museum. We would be honored to have you join us, so we are sending this invitation in advance with the following information:

• Date and Time: August 16, 2025 (Saturday), 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

• Location: The MacArthur Memorial Museum Theater, 198 Bank St, Norfolk, VA

This event will mark the 80th anniversary of Korea's liberation from Japanese colonial rule, and it will be a meaningful time for local community and organization leaders, as well as citizens of the Tidewater region, to gather together to reflect on the deep meaning of Korea's independence and freedom. The day signifies not just the end of foreign rule but also the restoration of Korean sovereignty and national identity.

In particular, we have prepared a special place for the next generation (youths and students) and Korean families to lead the future of Korea. We hope that families and neighbors will come together to shine this light and join us to commemorate.

We look forward to seeing your presence at The MacArthur Memorial Museum Theater on August 16th. Please take care of your health and stay cool during this hot summer.
